I was previously using a plastic tumbler/cup for my tea until a co-worker informed me that some plastics can leech harmful chemicals when hot liquids are added to them. This glass tumbler is exactly what I was looking for. It's just slightly heavy, but what do you expect for a nice sturdy glass mug. The lid on the mug I received was the silver/stainless one, not the black one that is shown on the first image. I wanted the silver one, so I am pleased. Just remember, there is no hole in the lid to drink out of, it is a solid screw on cap (as pictured). Product arrived 4 business days after I ordered, very satisfied!
Update:
I still cant rave enough about this product. I ended up ordering 6 more after family and co-workers said how they wanted one (they make great gifts). Sun's tea has actually updated the mugs now, they come in great little brown cardboard boxes that look pretty trendy/eco friendly (see pics I posted). Also the lid has been updated, it looks like a nicer stainless metal, more sleek and has a few solid rings etched around it. The mug itself is dishwasher safe, but they recommend that the lid be hand washed. I use my mug at work and paired with a borosilicate glass straw from [...], and I'm all set (just a little clinking since both products are glass, but both are very durable).

(More customer reviews)My new 6oz stainless steel flask (set of 5) arrived last week. The only true way to test flasks is... yes... you guessed it... fill these bad boys up and pound down some liquor like it owes you money.
Got my friends together (set of 4) and filled each flask with 100 proof rum. Yeah, play time is over, this test will not be for the faint of heart. Amateurs need not apply. Allow me to introduce the 5 players in this test. I will use descriptive nicknames to avoid damaging fragile friendships.
#1 - The cry baby - He drinks and feels sorry for himself. Almost to the point where you want to cry with him... almost.
#2 - The fighter - He drinks and wants to fight everyone. With no takers, he generally ends up punching a wall at the end of the night to prove his manhood.
#3 - The sleeper - Generally this individual needs to be carried to the car at the end of the night. Mumbles a lot.
#4 - The daredevil - The more liquor in him the more he thinks that jumping off the roof with a table cloth parachute is a really good idea. ANYTHING is possible with the proper Liquor / enthusiasm ratio.
#5 - Me - Normal - I console the cryer, Calm down the fighter, control the daredevil, and carry the sleeper to the car.
We assembled at my house. Thus ensuring there would be no drinking and driving. The test began very positive. 40 minutes in we had to refill the flasks. We looked and felt soooo cool using our flasks. Sophisticated. The sophistication ended at approx. 1 hr. and 15 minutes.
Cry baby started with the whole woe is me and look at my pathetic life rhetoric. The tears began to flow. The fighter punched him in the face in order to, in his own words, give him something to cry about. Daredevil decided that jumping off my back wall onto the trampoline would get some, quote, "big air". He bounced into the side of the house like a slab of beef. I laughed and was promptly beaned in the face from his half full flask. He throws harder than I thought.
I released a few obsenities at the top of my lungs and then swung into action. I did not want to be left out of the "Hey look at me" escapades. I kicked a dozing sleeper out of his chair and then pointed at the daredevil. Sleeper went after him immediately.
Crier and fighter wrestling on the ground. Sleeper and daredevil yelling at each other. Me, standing there proudly, with a very large flask induced bruise on the side of my face.... now swollen.
Apparently the neighbors were concerned and called the police. All fun ended when they arrived at 1 hr 20 minutes into flask test. Unfortunately, fighter answered the door. He got one drunk wild swing in before the beating began. I found myself cheering him on. It did not help him in his efforts to defeat multiple police officers. At least he got his own police car, the rest of us were doubled up. I rode with crier. A good thing. The other car went to the hospital first. The police officers had bet daredevil he couldn't fit his whole fist into his mouth. he knocked out two teeth forcing that sucker in.
All the flasks were retrieved with our personal effects the next day.... after arraingment.
They still looked new!!! Awesome flasks. Took a beating and still looked new.
We were all pleased with the results and are planning to test these wonderful flasks again, soon. Hopefully at someone's house that does not have a trampoline.

(More customer reviews)I am a recently disabled adult that cannot get enough of a good cup of tea. So seeing this I thought it would make a nice birthday present for me, and make life a little easier around the kitchen. It performs as it says it will.
It looks bulky but is surprisingly lightweight and easy to handle. The whole unit spins on a lazy-susan device making it east to direct the steam vent away from kitchen surfaces.
You will need a water pitcher of some kind to fill this easily. I have a medium sized one sand simply filly the pitcher twice to fill this device once. The handle on top, removable lid, and notched corner makes emptying and cleaning a breeze.
The temperature features are splendid and accurate, there are three:
205 for noodles/ramen etc, herbal infusions, pu-er, Assam and some other black teas..
195 For Darjeeling or delicate blacks like Illam valley are at this temperature as well, let the water sit a few minutes in the brew pot befor adding tea leaves, if you have a very delicate tea.
175 for green or white teas. A few of the more delicate whites fill the tea pot first, then add the leaves. By filling your teapot dry first, this allows the water to lose 5-10F by just warming the pot. Often enough to make a better flavored tea.
On a given day I can go from pu-er tsocha right from boiling, and set the temp to 195. Make a pot of bold assam in the afternoon when at a full boil, then set the temp to 175. Now, after dinner it is set for making jasmine tea for dessert. All with a minimal energy usage and cost.
I have found it a good idea to refill it only 1-2 times then empty the remains, give it a brush inside with a towel, and then let it completely dry. My scale buildup was reduced quite a bit this way.
For a fully able person this unit -is- a bit of a luxury. A simple electric teapot with temperature control would do you just fine for a fraction of the initial cost. This will make cost up over time by the thermos nature though, just a fyi.
Have a chain tea drinker in your life though or thoughts for limited commercial use (like a small teahouse), or like tea but have a very full life and time schedule? This would make a great gift for you or even a small splurge to treat yourself.UPDATE:
Almost two years later and it not only looks fine but functions just as well as the day I got it. I have to descale it about every 9 months or so. Other than that it is pretty maintenance free. Talk about longer term bang for your buck. If you drink tea or would use boiling water on a daily basis, this is a staple for your kitchen.
Some other uses I found. When making soup, rice, thinning a sauce, or deglazing a pan fill your measuring device from the Zojirushi set in slow pour. I now use water from the boiler and the hot water not only speeds up the process, but some flavors are left alone because the room temp water would have cooled the dish and altered the flavors.
I have also found the steel finish wipes very easily. A friend who bought the white version has some staining that stubbornly persists to this day. All in all if you get one you will not be disappointed.
